Hosting was simple, good price!

I got the shared web hosting plan for my small business site and it's been pretty solid so far. I was a bit worried about setting everything up, but their cPanel was easy enough to navigate. I even got a free domain with it, which was a nice bonus. I had a quick question about setting up a professional email and their support chat got back to me pretty fast, like within a few minutes. I mean, it's not the fastest hosting I've ever used, but for the price I paid, it's totally doing the job for my small site. I'd tell anyone looking for basic hosting to check them out.

Great domain, quick setup!

I grabbed a domain name here last week, just a simple .com. The checkout process was really smooth, no weird pop-ups or anything. The domain propagated pretty fast too; I had my site up and running in a few hours. I'll definitely consider them again for future projects, especially if they have good introductory pricing for hosting.

Easy domain transfer

Transferred my domain to Netfirms. It was straightforward. My site was down for about an hour, which was expected. All good now.

Thinking of moving my domain and hosting to Netfirms. Does anyone know if they offer a money back guarantee for hosting plans?

N NehaR 2 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Yes, they do. I think it's 30 days for most shared hosting plans. Check their terms on the website, it should be there.

Thanks, that's good to know.

Confirmed, it's 30 days. Used it once when I wasn't happy with the speed.

I used their website builder for a small project and it was decent, but I didn't need the money-back. Speeds were okay for a basic site.

How was their support if you had any issues?

Following this, also looking at their website builder.

It's usually pretty standard for hosting companies to offer a money-back period. Just make sure to read the fine print about what's refundable, sometimes domain registration isn't included.

Good point about the domain.

Renewal pricing surprised me this year. My shared hosting plan jumped quite a bit after the first year promo.

A AnkitK 1 month ago
Yeah, Netfirms is known for that. They hook you in with cheap first-year rates then renewal is way higher. Mine nearly doubled.

R Rohan87 1 month ago
Mine too! It's a common tactic with these hosting companies.

Same here. Did you try contacting support for a discount?

V VikramP 1 month ago
Mine only went up a little, maybe it depends on the plan? I have the basic shared hosting with a free domain.

Could be. I have a business email account with mine too.

I always move my domains and hosting after the first year because of this. Transferring a domain to Netfirms is easy, but transferring out is also pretty straightforward if you know what you're doing.

Hey, I saw a really cheap domain offer on their site, like $1.99. Does that actually apply for the full year, or is it just some weird introductory thing that jumps up after a month?

T Troy W. 2 months ago
That low price is usually just for the first year, or sometimes for new customers only. Renewals are always more expensive, like normal price.
6
G Greg 2 months ago
Yeah, it's a first-term thing. They get you in with the super low price then it goes up when you renew. Most hosting companies do that though.

how are the returns or cancellations if I sign up for hosting and decide it's not for me within a month or two? are they a pain to deal with?

M Mark S. 2 months ago
I canceled a hosting plan once, it wasn't too bad. I think they have a money-back guarantee, just check the terms to see how long it is.

They do have a refund policy. I'd just make sure to cancel within that window. Didn't have any issues when I did it a while back, got my money back pretty quickly.

I'm torn between Netfirms and GoDaddy for a new domain and email. How do they compare generally? Is one way better than the other for a basic setup?

F Faith Okafor 1 month ago
Netfirms is usually cheaper for the initial signup, especially for domains. GoDaddy sometimes has more bells and whistles but also pushes a lot of upsells. For basic, Netfirms is fine.

GoDaddy feels a bit more overwhelming to me, with all their options. Netfirms is simpler and usually more budget-friendly. For just a domain and email, Netfirms is a solid choice.

Thinking of getting a domain and some basic hosting here. Is their hosting reliable enough for a small business site? Don't want it crashing all the time.

T Troy 1 month ago
Yeah, I've had my small biz site with them for about a year and a half. No major downtime that I've noticed, and it's not super slow or anything. Pretty solid for the price.

R Raj 1 month ago
It's decent. Not like, top-tier enterprise stuff, but for a small business that's not getting millions of hits, it's totally fine. My blog runs smoothly there.

Anyone know if you can use multiple promo codes at checkout? Got a deal for hosting but also a separate one for a domain and wanna stack 'em.

A Anna S. 2 months ago
Nah, usually it's one code per order. Most sites are like that, they don't let you combine discounts.
3
F Faith 2 months ago
Pretty sure they only let you use one promo code at a time. It's rare for any web host to allow stacking them.
